07-20-2008 06:52 : An... update? by:Griswald |
As many of you know of the last news post, as well as the current degradation of the project in the forums, This website stands here for "historical" reasons currently. While the RKR project isn't completely dead, it's been put on a hiatus for quite some time. If anything does indeed happen, it is up to Ced to make an announcement toward that.
In the past year alone, I've had 2 HD failures, lost valuable programming, etc. On top of that, my interest in the project has waned. I have stepped down as a co-leader of the project and simply maintain the website and forums currently. This will be one of the last news posts by myself. Too anyone keeping track of the project, thanks for being a loyal fan and friend to the team.

07-01-2007 17:30 : "Restructure" by:Griswald |
As many of you know and can tell, the progress of RKR has gone even slower then a snail. Many many many setbacks have occured over the past few years and it's put a damper on alot of team members. With that being said, I still stand proud to be the Co-leader of this project.
As it stands, many of the team is pretty much out of contact with myself and Ced, and Ced still remains almost always out of contact with me. So for now, I've moved alot of staff from "Active" into "Retired", until I hear back from them. In the mean time, I'm calling out to everyone who cares about RKR and wishes to help out with the project. If you have any skills (Graphics, UI, Programming, Mapping, Modelling, Skinning, etc), feel free to AIM me or E-mail me (both can be found in the forums).
While alot was promised by Ced, I can't answer for the rest of the team, only myself. My own work on RKR goes quite well, and I hope to show some great quality screenshots in the near future.

Don't worry though, we're still working on RKR and we're gonna speed up things again after the holidays!!!
THe whole RKR Team wishes to everybody a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!! Have fun with your family and friends, and don't eat too much!! ;)
Stay tuned for more news soon enough!

08-12-2006 14:30 : Finally? Progression!? by:Griswald |
That's right folks! Major progression has occured in the RKR Community!
Now, I'm not so good at posting this kinda stuff as Ced, so bare with me. Let me start by announcing the darker side of things. As you have noticed, the comments have been disabled in the website. Why? Because it was nothing but laming / flaming / abusing. If you want to make a comment, register for our forums, and there is a unique board there for it.
Yay! Time for the goods! It's been 3 months since last update (Far more then what we wanted it to be), but atleast it's not 4 months like before? :o
First off, the best news of all. The old Kenshin model we developed (Not the battousai model) has been ditched. A new one is going onto the chopping block shortly. As a result of this, the old one has been released TO THE PUBLIC! Yes, thats right! It still needs to be finished, but what was done is currently available to be downloaded to anyone:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7405O4HB
Once megaupload removes it, it's gone. We nolonger support this model.
Secondly, what I myself had once started to write (and ran into complications getting completely done), has been done by Wudan. Thats right, Brittleness! Weapons now break accordingly, affect your character, etc.
Thirdly, A new blocking system is currently in development, and has a good amount of progress made into it. Gone are the days of auto-block, in comes timed button presses, dodging, etc!
Fourthly, Shishio's Arena is coming to a finish, and a co-op version is almost done as well. To describe this epic battle (as pictures of every update will come soon, we just want to make people drool for the moment), the player spawns much like in the Kyoto Streets co-op map, and there are (as always) ninjas to fight. At the main room of Shishio's Arena is none-other then Shishio himself, who greets you as you enter in his own... "fashion", so-to-speak. Once beaten, he bursts into flames with his evil laugh. Afterwords, Pipes explode, lava comes, and there are big earthquakes. All players must escape before dying a tragic death.
Finally, since Ced is currently out of town for the next 10 days, You may notice parts of the site being redone / fixed up. Namely? The multimedia section. It's old, it's outdated, and quite frankly... it's ugly. With this update of the site will come a fair share of pictures for the updates stated here. Some of which, have already been posted in the forums.
Now, I hope my little post wasn't really awful... I know it's nothing compared to how Ced would post it, but I hope you all love it. ^_^
