Q: What will the mod be about?
A: The mod is based on the Rurouni Kenshin anime/manga.
Q: What engine are you using?
A: We are using the Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy engine. You'll need to have this game installed for RK-R to work.
Q: What's going to make this game so good I should get it?
A: Please read through the **about** section. A summary of our gameplay is in there. Personally, we think RK-R will be a whole new type of game in total, because it borrows a lot of aspects from different gaming genres. You'll notice that when reading through the About section. Also, we will be featuring a story mode later on, when the MultiPlayer version is finished.
Q: What are the minimum system requirements for RK-R?
A: We hope to be able to retain Jedi Academy's minimum system requirements, but don't pin us down to this.
Q: Will you use the music themes from the anime?
A: No, not in their OST form anyhow. Our music artists will create new music scores based on the OSTs, so you should be able to recognize the original theme. We've taken this position because of legal issues and because of the dynamic music system. Wouldn't it sound odd to switch tracks without good transitions? And there's also another reason: we're pretty sure the OSTs don't cover all of our musical needs.
Q: Can I join your team?
A: If you think you have the proper skills to work on a section on this mod, contact someone in the leading department (either Ced or Griswald) by PM on the forums. What you'll need to include in it is if you have any experience with modteams, what position you're applying for and, if possible, include some of your work. If they decide you have the proper skills, you'll be put on trial. Once the trial period is over, you should get a PM again concerning the outcome.
Q: What's the release date?
A: We don't have any (estimates of) the release date. To the right of this are a set of bars with percentages; once Overall hits 100% the first public release of the mod should be downloadable.
Q: Will you release when the mod is totally finished?
A: No. RK-R will be released in several stages. For example, the first beta you'd be able to download would only contain 4 characters, each from different weaponclasses, since we're using those to test. Second beta would be more of an add-on, containing more characters, etc.
Forum Related
Q: Should I join the forums?
A: Of course! It's always good to see a new fan on the forums. There are some things we'd like to point you to first though. The built-in FAQ for VBulletin Forums, a sticky in the Newbie Forum containing some Common Questions (and their answers) for new members and the announcement atop of every forum containing the rules.
Q: Can I be a moderator?
A: At the moment, extra moderators shouldn't really be necessary. Every teammember can double as a moderator, so we should be able to take care of everything. Once we do need some extra moderators, we will announce this on the forums so you can apply for the position.
Q: Why did I get banned on the forums?
A: Contact Griswald and he will find out for you. It is most likely that you crossed the rules. Don't worry too much though, since we usually only ban members temporarily. Whatever you do, don't create new accounts to be able to keep on posting, you'll only get the moderators angry.
Q: I'm having a problem, where can I get help?
A: Post about it in the Suggestions/Complaints forum and we'll do our best to help out. However, check the post in Newbie Forum concerning Common Questions first, there might just be an answer in there.
